When ssh into board a halt -f causes a kernel opps (Bug #115)

Description

I sshed into the board over Ethernet or USB as root then execute halt -f. I almost always get the attached opps.It seems to work OK if I login over the serial port.

Linux beaglebone 3.8.13-bone64
BeagleBoard.org BeagleBone Debian Image 2014-09-03

That's fine, i nuked the cloned reports, please clarify if it's the exact same opps as:

http://bugs.elinux.org/issues/39

The symptoms are different. This is a null pointer dereference kernel opps with last common call in stack trace between Ethernet and usb tty_release.

The other issue was a kernel panic in do_exit.
