this makes BBB useless. This issue continues since ubuntu-13.10-console-armhf-2014-02-16.tar.xz. Is it due to voltage fluctuation??

Hi Gerald, can you easily answer this bug report? I haven't been able to reproduce this problem.

I've experienced the same bug when disabling and enabling the USB controller. It's power supply related.

Last time I checked (which was a while ago, but so is this bug report) the driver doesn't correctly inspect the irq bits of the pmic. As a result it also generates a "power button" event on the other two interrupt sources: DC power supply (dis)connected and USB power (dis)connected.

My guess would be that both power sources were present and one of them (probably USB) got disconnected, or glitched, or perhaps the PMIC spuriously thought it did (that thing is a bit buggy).
